The Final Five Days
With only five days until the 2018 elections, we’re putting the pedal to the metal.
Happy November!!! We’re really in the final stretch now — but we’ve got no plans to stop or slow down yet.
The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus #PowerTheBlackVote Tour continued today with tons of exciting stops in the Cleveland area. We started the day with visits to a couple senior centers in the area, where we talked to folks about the issues they’re facing and how Democrats can help.
Our group of Democrats this morning included Judge Michael Donnelly, Judge Melody Stewart, Rob Richardson, Sen. Sandra Williams, Rep. Stephanie Howse and candidates for the state House Juanita Brent and Erica Crawley.
By the end of these events, it was time for lunch — so we headed over to Frederick’s in Warrensville Heights to meet with an incredible group of Democrats (and some incredible food) for lunch. While we ate, we heard from three of our awesome statewide candidates: Zack Space for Auditor, Rob Richardson for Treasurer and Steve Dettelbach for Attorney General.
Next, we headed to LaBarberia — a barber school in Cleveland. Zack Space, Rob Richardson, Juanita Brent, Judge Michael Donnelly and Steve Dettelbach talked to these students about why they’re running and how they can help them — Steve even got a haircut!
Even though it’s been a cold and wet day up in Cleveland, there are still doors to knock! That’s why we joined state House candidate Phil Robinson for a canvass kickoff and several of us took off to go knock for (and with) Phil.
And lastly — what better way to end a busy day on the bus than with a little bit of ice cream? We finished the day with Steve Dettelbach and an extra special guest — Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Jerry Greenfield!
We can count on one hand the number of days left before Election Day — see ya during the final sprint!
