Off to another exciting day on the #PeopleFirst Bus Tour ! The day kicked off in Urbana with a GOTV press conference with the Champaign County Dems and candidates from the area.

We were excited to have former Governor Ted Strickland join us throughout the day. During the Urbana press conference, we heard from Governor Strickland, Chairman David Pepper, Congressional candidate in OH-4 Janet Garrett and candidate for State Representative in District 85 Garrett Baldwin— one of our youngest candidates at age 18!

We were especially excited to be with Janet today since it was the same day that Nate Silver ranked her race even more flippable! She’s got tons of momentum behind her in her race against Jim Jordan — she even outraised him last quarter!

Next, we headed off to Dayton for a press conference on ECOT with Steve Dettelbach, candidate for Attorney General. The timing was perfect, since he just released a new ad highlighting how his opponent turned a blind eye to the scandal while taking in BIG money from donors associated with the sham charter school that diverted millions from Ohio schools.

During the press conference, Steve was joined by Dayton School Board member Mohamad Al-Hamdani, Dayton Clerk of Courts Russ Joseph and candidate for State School Board Dawn Wojcik, who each talked about the Republican culture of corruption that enabled ECOT to rob our local school districts.

Check out the live stream of our press conference below!

After the Dayton event, we headed to downtown Springfield for a GOTV rally with dozens of Democrats and a host of exciting speakers, including Congressional candidate Vanessa Enoch in OH-8, Mayor Warren Copeland, candidate for Treasurer Rob Richardson, candidate for State Representative in District 74 Anne Gorman, candidate for State Representative in District 79 Amanda Finfrock and candidate for Clark County Commissioner Seth Evans.

These awesome Democrats brought us home with a rousing call to spend the next 21 days fighting hard to get these and other candidates elected by knocking doors, making calls and turning out the vote!

In other news, today was a big day for me — because I voted! You don’t have to wait until Election Day to cast your ballot for Democrats all the way down the ballot because early voting is open.

21 days to go!
