20 days from the election and the #PeopleFirst crew is goin’ strong! Today was a day full of visiting different boards of elections and hanging out with incredible female candidates who are stepping up in their communities to run for office.

Shoutout to the awesome Dems braving the cold and handing out Democratic slate cards at the Greene County Board of Elections!

First, we headed to the Greene County Board of Elections in Xenia, where we met up with Congressional candidate in OH-10 Theresa Gasper, candidate for State Representative in District 73 Kim McCarthy and candidate for State Representative in District 74 Anne Gorman.

All three candidates talked about their People First messages — especially Kim, who’s been using that slogan throughout her entire campaign! We then cheered on Theresa when she went in to vote early.

Next stop, a beautiful (and windy) visit to the city of Hamilton in Butler County to see another all-woman slate of hardworking candidates.

Butler County Chair Brian Hester put it perfectly — “I believe a woman’s place in the campaign is on the ballot.”

These candidates have the coolest backgrounds — from veterans and health care champions to mothers and lawyers, they’re all focused on putting people first.

We heard from Congressional candidate in OH-8 Vanessa Enoch, candidate for State Senate in District 7 Sara Bitter and a number of State House candidates — Nikki Foster in HD54, Kathy Wyenandt in HD52, Rebecca Howard in HD53 and Susan Vaughn in HD51.

Nikki and Sara followed us to our next all-woman press conference in Lebanon, where we joined Pat Bruns, who’s up for reelection on the State School Board.

We wrapped up the day with a swing by the Warren County Dems HQ, where we met up with our first male candidate of the day — Aftab Pureval who’s running for Congress in OH-1.

Aftab fired up the packed room, and then ~yours truly~ gave an update about life on the bus, the progress we’ve made and all the exciting momentum Democrats have behind us this year (and yes, I made sure to get a selfie).

20 days to go — onward!
